John Kidwell, founder/creative director

Currently John Kidwell owns and operates Kidwell Design located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the last year Kidwell has been splitting his time between KD and building a new studio. Progress can be seen on his blogspot at http://kidwells-biohome.blogspot.com/ .

John Kidwell attended Dupont Manual High School in Louisville, Kentucky where he studied visual arts. He acquired an associates degree in Visual Communications after graduating from Westport Technical School in 1988 studying under Stephen Sikora.

In 1989, John worked for L.M. Berry and Company. His accomplishments include the introduction of computer graphics to the advertising production department, development of directory advertisement software through BellSouth Advertising and Publishing Company (BAPCO) and APPLE Computer Software and the subsequent training of inhouse production artists. The software introduced the ability to produce spot color in yellowpage directories.

1989-1991, Kidwell owned ScreenKings Screen Printing in Louisville, KY. ScreenKings specialized in short run promotional textile screenprinting, large format and plastic sports bottle imprinting.

1990-1991, Sante Fe Natural Tobbaco, Natural American Spirit Cigarettes, VP Marketing. Responsible for establishing nationwide distribution system and positioning products in retail outlets.

1991-1994, Verdict Publishing Company, The New Mexico Verdict, owner/publisher. The Verdict was a trade magazine for lawyers, judges, legislatures and industry as it relates to law.

1996-1999, Cinesational Motion Pictures, Loop Entertainment. John Kidwell was producer of music videos, television commercials, corporate and independant films. Also Managed motion picture equipment.

1995-2001, Owned PrettyWild Vintage Clothing and Costume. PrettyWild specialized in retro wardrobe, costume and props for TV, film and theatre.

2002-2005 Baker Film and Video, John Kidwell worked many positions including camera operator, set designer, lighting director. Clients include: Westinghouse, University of Missouri, Missouri State Government, Catholic Diocese, Ellis Fischelle Cancer Hospital, and many, many more.
